They can flash big numbers at you, but the average bonus is probably far less than the cap. Whatever bonus you get is subject to a 40x wagering requirement before clearing for withdrawal. If you were wondering, that’s on the high end of the industry standard (between 30x and 40x). You aren’t very likely to clear any of that bonus.

The slot machines they tend to push also have high variance and low overall value. When trying to look up sitewide Return to Player (RTP) statistics, three slots popped up. Mind you, this is information from their website, on the front page of Google’s search results, which we’ve archived in the Wayback Machine for posterity:

These are some genuinely awful RTP percentages to be pushing on players. And if you think I’m cherry-picking, the bottom of the search page results include Lucky 7 Slots (93.78% RTP) and Mega Combo Cash (93.94% RTP). If anything, I was being kind.

Even if you’re looking for high variance, you should play machines with less than 95% RTP. Imagine clearing the 40x rollover for your deposit bonus on these machines. You’d lose around 6% of your stake with every playthrough on average; you’ll lose the entire bonus before you’re even halfway done clearing it if you use these machines. You want an RTP closer to 97% to have a reasonable chance of walking away with anything (even then, it will be stiff).

Before we move on, let’s look at those archived pages again. Look at the very bottom:

What is happening here?! Blatantly shilling your other sister sites isn’t anything new, but usually, it’s for their features, and the original site doesn’t. In this case, it’s hard to determine if they’re saying that the Casino 2020 sister sites are going to treat you to the same awful RTP machines (Hint: They are) or if they’re implying that the bonuses on those other real money online casinos might be a better deal.

It’s different that you can ‘win big’ at multiple Casino 2020 sister sites by using their no-deposit bonus repeatedly. They’ve capped your results across all sister sites:

All this begs the question: Is Casino 2020 being set up as the ‘bad cop’ to push people toward their ‘good cop’ sister sites? That’s an absurd move, but who knows what goes through the minds of a marketing team.

Odd shilling aside, let’s look at the deposit methods on offer. They’ve branded themselves as a phone casino, meaning you can track your casino deposit on your monthly mobile phone bill. You can also use debit cards or a PaySafe card. They also note that their sister site Dr. Slot can take Apple Pay, but Casino 2020 can’t. Weird flex, but there it is.

As of early June of 2023, the three slots that they advertise from their home page by clicking on the ‘Exceptional Online Slots‘ tab are Viking Lightning (94.11% RTP), Spinfall 7s (94.08% RTP), and Lion Spirit (93.88% RTP). Yes, seriously. These are the slots they’ve voluntarily chosen to promote to their players. We’ve archived this page so you can scroll down past the slot machine list and click that tab yourself, even if it gets changed in the future.

With slots being their primary offering and the RTP of every slot they’ve created seeming wrong, there’s little more to say here.

Are we being too harsh for this to be an honest Casino 2020 review? Allow us to offer one last piece of evidence.

Remember how we archived those three slot machines at the top of Google’s search results? We weren’t the first.

Here’s the stated RTP of those same machines back in 2022:

Well, at least one of the three machines has always been terrible.

As for the other two, and multiple other archived slot records, the stated RTP dropped between 2022 and 2023. Were they just wrong about their RTP estimates early on and passed that false information on to the public (after presumably running 10s of millions of test simulations, or at least one would hope)? Did they actively change the RTP to pay out less now?

Either way paints a pretty dire picture for Casino 2020. This is evidence of incompetence or sheer greed.

This is one of many reasons we can no longer recommend Casino 2020 to the average online gambler. They may have something to offer the advanced punter, something we should have encountered during our investigation. If you know the risks and don’t mind the odds, try them out.
