The Casino 2020 Sister Sites
Here are the Casino 2020 sister sites: PocketWin, Bonus Boss, Dr. Slot, Jammy Monkey, Mr. Spin, mFortune casino. We will delve into all of these matters with the same level of honesty and professionalism that we have provided in the past, facing the reality of this new development so that you can make the best possible decisions.
Sites Like Casino 2020
It’s June of 2023, and one of the most dramatic changes we’ve ever seen in a set of UK sister sites is currently taking place. In the past few weeks, the ratings of each of the Casino 2020 sister sites have plummeted. What happened to the Casino 2020 sister sites in the UK?! Why was the parent company just hit with regulatory action from the gambling commission? How did they lose the public trust so quickly?
By the end of this article, you should have all the information you need to decide about the Casino 2020 sister sites and have a list of Casino 2020 alternatives in your back pocket. Of these sites, mFortune is the most different. They offer live casino play and a full suite of bingo options. Other sites like Jammy Monkey and Bonus Boss are mostly reskinned of Casino 2020.
As of June 2023, all of the new player bonus offers across the Casino 2020 sister sites have a 40x rollover requirement on the bonus amount. Most of them have the exact ‘variable’ nature, stating that the bonuses are UP TO a certain amount of spins or a certain percentage of the deposit.
Because of their joint ownership and the fact that these sites use many of the same games, the issues of Casino 2020 broadly apply to her sister sites as well. As such, we cannot recommend any of the Casino 2020 sister sites to the average online gambler. Once again, if you’ve read through our entire review and understand the risks involved, feel free to try any of them out that you wish.
Let’s turn the page on these InTouch-owned sites and look at a couple of much happier (and much more well-reviewed) real-money online casinos. The following two sites are our best recommendations if you’re looking for Casino 2020 alternatives.
Casino 2020 Alternatives
Although technically, a casino has to be a slot site to be a valid Casino 2020 alternative, we’ve added a few criteria to contrast other sites’ offerings with what we’ve reported so far.
With that in mind, the following criteria have been imposed when selecting our Casino 2020 alternative sites:
- UK Based: The site should be UK based to compare apples to apples and meet common regulation standards.
- Slot Availability: The site must offer a variety of slots, and not just games developed by the site owner.
- 96%+ RTP Available: Some real money casino options must carry at least a 96% RTP.
- 4.0+ TrustPilot Rating: The site must have at least a 4.0 TrustPilot rating, indicating some community support and approval.
These factors led us to find two sisters that we consider to be Casino 2020 similar sites: BetVictor and talkSport.
BetVictor – Casino 2020 Alternatives
Now we transition from reviewing one of the worst-rated casinos in the UK jurisdiction to reviewing one of the most well-reviewed real money online casinos worldwide.
BetVictor was a bookie in London’s East End, right around the time World War 2 was ending. That’s right; this site has had real brick-and-mortar roots for around 80 years. They’ve been developing and enhancing their reputation for a long time.
When it came time to develop an online casino and sportsbook solution, BetVictor established its presence in Gibraltar and registered with the UK Gaming Authorities under license number 39576. BetVictor’s sister sites are listed under the government registry’s trading and domain names.
Unlike InTouch, BetVictor uses various game manufacturers, including industry anchors such as BetSoft Games, Playtech, and Pragmatic Play. Pragmatic provides their bingo rooms and the many variants of bingo games available on the site, while BetSoft has provisioned many table games and slots. Playtech is a cornerstone of BetVictor’s live gaming selection.
This means that the variety available at BetVictor is excellent. Not only does it have a genuine, money online casino, including slots, slingo, and table games. But it also offers a complete online sportsbook, several bingo rooms, and many live gaming options.
BetVictor has standard bonus options, nothing to write home about. They usually require an industry-standard 40x rollover (which is slightly high, as most sites need between 30x and 40x rollover). They offer a Casino Welcome Bonus – Wager £10 to Get £50 in Slot Bonuses and a Wager £10 to Get £30 + 100 Free Spins bonus for new players. Again, with a 40x clearance requirement, it’s unlikely that the average player will see any of the bonus when it comes time to cash out. But there are higher RTP games to help you grind it out if you get lucky.
What kind of games? One of their new slots is Zeus Rush Fever from Ruby Play. It features an excellent 96.9% RTP, 243 playlines, medium to low volatility, and a max win 8,600x. This kind of real money slot is lightyears ahead of lower RTP machines with high volatility, at least insofar as their ability to clear bonuses.
Or, if you prefer slingo, BetVictor offers licensed machines such as Deadliest Catch. It offers an RTP of 95.7%, a max win 3,740x, and 12 potential paylines. It also has many impressive results, including Wild and Super Wild, which can result in free spins or instant cash prizes.
Racing and traditional sports bonus offers are available for those interested in trying the sportsbook. The Sports Welcome Offer – Bet £5 Get £10 – has no additional wagering requirements. It’s a reasonably simple offer but an excellent way to get used to the site’s sportsbook interface.
As far as deposits, BetVictor uses credit and debit cards, bank transfers, Paypal, Neteller, Paysafe, Trustly, and Skrill. And most of those options are also available for withdrawal, though international bank transfers will incur a £10 service charge.
By selecting BetVictor as a Casino 2020 alternative, we end up with a well-reviewed, broad-scoped, respected source of online real-money casino action. The bonus structure is (sadly) similar to Casino 2020, at least on the slot side of the coin. But in almost every other way, BetVictor is an upgrade.
What if I told you that one of the BetVictor sister sites is arguably an even better Casino 2020 alternative?
talkSport – Casino 2020 Alternatives
If there was a casino that was similar to BetVictor, was still rated quite highly at TrustPilot, and had far better bonus offers, you would be a fool not to consider it.
That’s what you get at talkSport, a BetVictor sister site produced by BV Gaming in late 2022. It has themed content based on the popular sports news site of the same name.
The main difference in game selection between the two sites is that talkSport doesn’t offer bingo on their site. But since we’re looking for a Casino 2020 alternative, that should be manageable for most of our readers.
BetVictor and talkSport casinos offer almost the same games as one another and have a wide range of RTPs to work with, including some games offering a 96%+ return rate.
However, the bonuses offered at talkSport are strictly superior to either BetVictor or Casino 2020. Let’s go through a few examples.
Looking at the £35 in Bonuses and 50 Free Spins offer to see how easy it is to clear when compared to the 40x rollover requirements at the other casino, it’s like night and day. The rollover on this offer (and many additional casino-oriented bonuses) is only 20x the bonus amount. That’s far less than the industry standard. On a 96.5% RTP machine, the average player will still walk away with around 30% of their bonus intact. So at least there’s a shot!
It works like this: Make a £25 deposit and wager it on selected events. Win or lose, you will get seven days’ worth of small bets in a row. You’ll even get 50 free spins on the famous Big Bass Bonanza. Sure, there are maximum win amounts of £250 on the casino side and £25,000 on the sportsbook side. But for a £25 commitment with a relatively easy-to-clear bonus structure, talkSport is one of the best deals on the market today.
If you prefer to try your luck with the sportsbook, you can use the Get £20 in Free Sports Bets offer. Just opt in, make a £20 wager, and follow the instructions with each bonus deposit into your balance. The winnings have no rollover requirements!
It should be noted that the bonus offers that only refer to casino play still have a 40x bonus rollover requirement. Most punters will prefer the £35 in Bonuses and 50 Free Spins offer for its sheer variety and flexibility, plus your free slot pulls.
For race fans, note that all UK and Irish horse racing bets have ‘start insurance’:
‘We will refund all losing bets (in cash) on British and Irish racing on horses who fail to give punters A Run For Their Money and refuse or whip around at the start, fail to come out, or lose all chance at the stalls.’talkSport
This is the definition of fairness. There’s nothing worse than having a horse fail to start after you’ve researched, calculated the odds, and laid a bet on them. This clause wipes out an otherwise frustrating occurrence.
So as far as Casino 2020 alternative sites, talkSport is easily the top two. And depending on your particular interests, it’s possibly number one by a country mile.
Who Owns the Casino 2020 Sister Sites?
An important entity in this mystery is the registered owner of the Casino 2020 sister site: InTouch Games Limited. They were based in the UK, with offices in central Halesowen, England, registered with the UK Gambling Commission as business number 2091.
Note that some parts of the paragraph above are in the past tense.
That’s because, in mid-2022, InTouch had a massive shakeup. Skywind fully acquired the company.
Who is Skywind? They’re registered with the UK Gambling Commission as business number 52261. They have no casinos registered directly under their name, maintaining their listing as a casino software and service company.
How Did Skywind’s Acquisition Impact the Casino 2020 Sister Sites?
Just before Christmas of 2022, the first shoe dropped: Local news reported that Skywind axed most of the Halesowen support staff and moved to Birmingham.
And yet, Skywind cited ‘performance issues as the primary reason for the move. The former employees were shocked. Insiders relayed that most of them had been hitting their support targets and were even given monthly performance bonuses in recent weeks.
According to Halesowen News, Skywind made the following statement in response to queries about the mass firing:
“Following the acquisition of In Touch Games earlier this year by Skywind, we have completed a review of the business, which has resulted in several changes being made to improve current working practices, which includes changes in the Customer Service Team. The company is very much focused on future growth and is committed to developing a first-class team and business that delivers the highest levels of quality and performance.”Halesowen News
How did this impact the overall support and public relations level for the Casino 2020 sister sites?
These are some of the lowest average scores of a significant chain of sister sites in the UK today.
But is this a recent development? Let’s look at some examples.
Over the past three months (approximately March 2023 – May 2023), PocketWin registered 27 reviews. 23 were one star, one was three, and 3 were five stars. We don’t know the weighting system that TrustPilot uses, but at face value, that’s around 1.5 stars on average, lower than their historical rating.
Over the same three-month period, Casino 2020 received ten reviews. 9 were one star, and 1 was five stars. Again, taken as an entirely unweighted average, this results from 1.4 stars on average. That’s lower than their historic rating.
Finally, the big one mFortune. Over those same three months, they received 35 reviews. 32 were one star, one was two, and 2 were five stars. The unweighted average is an icy 1.3 stars, significantly lower than their historical average.
Given these damning numbers, we have to conclude that Skywind’s acquisition of the Casino 2020 sister sites hurt public perception and possibly the quality of their support.
Remember that InTouch was the 2021 EGR Mobile Operator of the Year. They won the 2020 and 2021 WhichBingo Awards for Best Customer Service. Less than two years ago, they were on top of the world. For them to fall this far and this fast is incredible.
So where do we go from here?
We will do our honest Casino 2020 review, list the Casino 2020 sister sites as usual, and then recommend some excellent Casino 2020 alternatives based in the UK. Given the current state of these sister sites, it’s the only ethical thing we can do.
If these sister sites improve their performance and public image, we will revisit them. Let’s give you the facts in mid-2023 and direct you toward a potentially more positive experience.
An Honest Casino 2020 Review
I would have started this review a couple of years ago by pointing out that Casino 2020 was chosen as BingoPort’s Best New Slots Site of 2021. It was exciting because it focused on high-variance games and a new sign-up bonus structure that could yield explosive results.
But as you already know, if you’ve read the section above, this will be a more somber Casino 2020 review. This is the property of a company that has been hit with multiple regulatory sanctions, the latest in January of this year. They’ve experienced lousy press, mass staff firings, and an ownership shakeup. Remember anything you thought you knew about Casino 2020 because we’re leaving the past behind and focusing on the here and now.
Casino 2020 is a high-variance real money online casino. Why the high variance? Because even the scope of your welcome bonus is determined randomly.
Casino 2020 Bonuses
Rather than offering welcome bonuses with a fixed value and some spins on a particular machine, the cash value and the number of spins are variable. Their no-deposit bonus is UP TO £20 and UP TO 20 Free Spins. The deposit-based welcome bonus is UP TO £300 and UP TO 400 Free Spins. They can flash big numbers at you, but the average bonus is probably far less than the cap. Whatever bonus you get is subject to a 40x wagering requirement before clearing for withdrawal. If you were wondering, that’s on the high end of the industry standard (between 30x and 40x). You aren’t very likely to clear any of that bonus.
The slot machines they tend to push also have high variance and low overall value. When trying to look up sitewide Return to Player (RTP) statistics, three slots popped up. Mind you, this is information from their website, on the front page of Google’s search results, which we’ve archived in the Wayback Machine for posterity:
- Operation Wilds – 94.1% RTP
- Spin A Clue – 94.12% RTP
- Gold Of The Pharaohs – 94.0% RTP
These are some genuinely awful RTP percentages to be pushing on players. And if you think I’m cherry-picking, the bottom of the search page results include Lucky 7 Slots (93.78% RTP) and Mega Combo Cash (93.94% RTP). If anything, I was being kind.
Even if you’re looking for high variance, you should play machines with less than 95% RTP. Imagine clearing the 40x rollover for your deposit bonus on these machines. You’d lose around 6% of your stake with every playthrough on average; you’ll lose the entire bonus before you’re even halfway done clearing it if you use these machines. You want an RTP closer to 97% to have a reasonable chance of walking away with anything (even then, it will be stiff).
Before we move on, let’s look at those archived pages again. Look at the very bottom:
‘Dr. Slot and PocketWin know how to treat their players with amazing casino bonuses, as well as Casino2020 does! Check out the Doctor’s Free Spins No Deposit Bonus, which you could get just from signing up! PocketWin also offers incredible Free Spins and No Deposit Bonuses for new and existing players!’
What is happening here?! Blatantly shilling your other sister sites isn’t anything new, but usually, it’s for their features, and the original site doesn’t. In this case, it’s hard to determine if they’re saying that the Casino 2020 sister sites are going to treat you to the same awful RTP machines (Hint: They are) or if they’re implying that the bonuses on those other real money online casinos might be a better deal.
It’s different that you can ‘win big’ at multiple Casino 2020 sister sites by using their no-deposit bonus repeatedly. They’ve capped your results across all sister sites:
‘£50 max withdrawal from bonuses without a deposit across all Intouch Games Accounts; mFortune, Mr. Spin, Dr. Slot, PocketWin, Casino2020, Bonus Boss, Jammy Monkey.’
All this begs the question: Is Casino 2020 being set up as the ‘bad cop’ to push people toward their ‘good cop’ sister sites? That’s an absurd move, but who knows what goes through the minds of a marketing team.
Odd shilling aside, let’s look at the deposit methods on offer. They’ve branded themselves as a phone casino, meaning you can track your casino deposit on your monthly mobile phone bill. You can also use debit cards or a PaySafe card. They also note that their sister site Dr. Slot can take Apple Pay, but Casino 2020 can’t. Weird flex, but there it is.
As of early June of 2023, the three slots that they advertise from their home page by clicking on the ‘Exceptional Online Slots‘ tab are Viking Lightning (94.11% RTP), Spinfall 7s (94.08% RTP), and Lion Spirit (93.88% RTP). Yes, seriously. These are the slots they’ve voluntarily chosen to promote to their players. We’ve archived this page so you can scroll down past the slot machine list and click that tab yourself, even if it gets changed in the future.
With slots being their primary offering and the RTP of every slot they’ve created seeming wrong, there’s little more to say here.
Are we being too harsh for this to be an honest Casino 2020 review? Allow us to offer one last piece of evidence.
Remember how we archived those three slot machines at the top of Google’s search results? We weren’t the first.
Here’s the stated RTP of those same machines back in 2022:
- Operation Wilds – 94.62% RTP (0.52% higher RTP than the prior year)
- Spin A Clue – 94.51% RTP (0.39% higher RTP than the prior year)
- Gold Of The Pharaohs – 94.0% RTP (remained the same)
Well, at least one of the three machines has always been terrible.
As for the other two, and multiple other archived slot records, the stated RTP dropped between 2022 and 2023. Were they just wrong about their RTP estimates early on and passed that false information on to the public (after presumably running 10s of millions of test simulations, or at least one would hope)? Did they actively change the RTP to pay out less now?
Either way paints a pretty dire picture for Casino 2020. This is evidence of incompetence or sheer greed.
This is one of many reasons we can no longer recommend Casino 2020 to the average online gambler. They may have something to offer the advanced punter, something we should have encountered during our investigation. If you know the risks and don’t mind the odds, try them out.
As a matter of record, let’s look at the Casino 2020 sister sites so that you know which sites and apps to avoid. Then we’ll go over a couple of Casino 2020 alternatives.
Summing It All Up
When we started this article, we had yet to learn how much Casino 2020 sister sites and their parent company had changed over the last year. Revised RTP numbers, corporate ownership changes, support staff, policy, and plummeting public perception told us everything we needed to know.
And it’s sad not only because of the support staff who lost their jobs and for the players who once enjoyed playing at the Casino 2020 sister sites but for everyone in the industry. We’re reminded of the grim fact that there’s a line between profitable and downright greedy. And if you cross that line, you can run afoul of regulations and the very people who were your loyal customers for years.
It’s a good thing that we have Casino2020 alternative sites. Without them, we’d be stuck in a loop of frustration that is difficult to break free of, wanting to play our favorite games but feeling like we’ve been taken advantage of.
Sites like talkSport and BetVictor restore our faith in the system. They certainly could be better. Even the mighty BetVictor had to pay a settlement for screwing up their anti-money laundering requirements and advertisement obligations! But they run various games with fair RTPs, and talkSport has some great bonus offers to try out.
Here’s hoping that InTouch Games and Skywind can right their listing ship. They had some neat casinos at one time, and though they were never the highest RTP games available, they were unique because of the in-house development angle. We at Sister Casinos will periodically monitor their properties for signs of improvement and continue to hope for better news. Until then, please enjoy our recommendations for Casino 2020 alternative sites.
