In a not so surprising twist, Fortune Coins doesn’t have any direct sister casinos. There are a lot of sites out there trying to bend logic and reason to tell you that there are Fortune Coin sister sites, but it’s simply a lie.

‘Blazesoft’. ‘Social Gaming LLC’ and ‘Social Gaming LTD’ only own and run Fortune Coins. Period. Mickey Blayvas owns Blazesoft, and his other ventures are in the insurance and mentoring fields. So that’s a dead end.

That said, we can offer you some sites similar to Fortune Coins. This is an excellent exercise to compare and contrast the site to some of the more ‘average’ social casinos in North America and some of the top contenders in the field.

Funzpoints

Funzpoints is a social casino with an ‘unlock’ system that gives you a basic set of games that you can play and allows you to use micro transactions to unlock others that you find entertaining.

Only around 20% of the platform’s games can be played using Standard points without additional micro transactions. So you can play the ‘core’ games, pay for an upgrade, or use Premium Funzpoints on those other games (more on the two-tier credit system later). The site has around 100 games as of early September 2023, and 80 are locked to people with new accounts.

Most of the available games are between 94% and 96% RTP. That’s average for the industry, but paying to unlock and play these machines could be more enjoyable.

This is different from the model that we would have preferred. Particularly when you consider that there are no major branded games available. That’s right, most games on Funzpoints are developed in-house or by a single minor third-party studio. So, if you aren’t paying to unlock the licensing of popular games from the big studios, why pay at all?

Funzpoints Credits

Funzpoints has two kinds of credits: Standard Funzpoints, which are used like play money, and Premium Funzpoints, which are part of their sweepstakes system.

You can spin the Bonus Wheel once every three hours to get more Standard Funzpoints and some tickets for their Sweepstakes draws. You win an additional Premium Funzpoint for each 500 Standard Funzpoints earned.

When playing a ten-credit machine, you can ‘reload’ with ten extra Standard Funzpoints if you dip below the minimum play threshold. It takes 5 seconds and a few menu clicks, which earns you… 10 points. It’s ludicrously slow and tedious.

Because it’s part of the sweepstakes, Premium Funzpoints can be earned by requesting free Sweepstakes entries. You can do this once every five business days. The details are on their Sweepstakes rules page, but rest assured they’ve taken measures so the process can’t be automated.

Funzpoints has a Trustpilot score of 3.3 out of 5 stars, on our list’s low end of the social casinos. The tedium of getting extra free points 10 at a time, needing to use the money to unlock most of the games, and having no good licensed slots contribute to this score.

But the primary source of complaints is their policy that Premium Funzpoints expire after 60 days!

‘Premium Funzpoints will automatically expire after an account becomes Dormant. For these Sweepstakes Rules, “Dormant” means there has been no gameplay activity utilizing Premium Funzpoints for sixty (60) days.’

This isn’t in their Terms of Service but in their Sweepstakes rules.

Funzpoints USA would be average without this strange policy, with a heavily restricted and frankly obscure set of games to play. But given this policy, they must be considered one of the worst sites like Fortune Coins USA. Avoid them.

Pulsz Casino

Pulsz is one of the few social casinos with a sister site on our list! We’ll show you that site briefly at the end of our mini-review.

This is another sweepstakes-optional site offering both Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins. But unlike Funzpoints, they have many popular licensed games from creators like Evoplay, Playson, 3 Oaks, and Pragmatic Play. Wow Vegas

Chumba Casino

The final social casino site, Fortune Coins, is the exciting and slightly strange Chumba Casino. Why is it interesting? The ownership. And why is it strange? The ownership.

The Chumba sister casinos are owned by VGW, meaning their Chairman and CEO is Laurence Escalante. Laurence is both a well-known philanthropist and a hardcore party animal. As such, it shouldn’t be surprising that he recently flew into Australia with LSD, coke, and E in his bag after an extended bender in Las Vegas.

There’s a certain irony when you compare the owner’s wild-by-nature lifestyle to the site’s borderline paranoia regarding security. The first thing that happened when we tried to log into Chumba Casino was a warning about attempting to access their location using a VPN service.

We weren’t using a VPN service, instead opting for a custom packet forwarding system that allowed us to mask our web browser’s fingerprint. As many users know, browser fingerprinting is a significant security concern. Most VPNs do next to nothing to disguise your device and browser fingerprint.

But instead of focusing on the genuine security concerns of their clients, Chumba Casino wanted to know everything about us, despite not needing to do any identification at that stage. We still needed to sign up for an account. We still need to attempt to create a log in.

Reputation

Their Trustpilot rating might reflect some of this paranoia, ranking a tepid 3.8 out of 5 stars. That might be great for regular casinos, but for social casinos, less. The only site on our list with a lower rating is Funzpoints.

This is a lower-end option when considering sites like Fortune Coins USA. We don’t like any site that requests you turn off your VPN, never mind places that don’t know the difference between a VPN service and other security measures.

It should be noted that Chumba Casino does have two sister sites. Their ratings don’t measure up. Global Poker and Luckyland Slots have Trustpilot ratings of 2.7 and 2.2, respectively (as of early September 2023). Their documentation shows severe RTP issues, including theoretical RTPs as low as 90%. Global Poker also started to delete players’ Sweepstakes Coin balances after 90 days, causing a massive uproar. BlazeSoft is a Canadian company that develops social casino properties and assets. And without a doubt, Fortune Coins is their most significant success. They were founded in 2016 with the idea that they could develop casinos that complied with the general US restrictions surrounding the online gambling industry.
