In this article we’re going to examine the Rainbow Riches sister sites. Then we’ll continue with a comprehensive Rainbow Riches review, and we’ll cover what has happened to put a damper on the brand.

First, you should check out our article on the Heart Bingo sister sites. Other than Parimatch, they’re all pretty incredible.

You’ll choose between one of the best UK-based bingo sites with unreal no-strings bonuses and two complete hybrid sportsbooks/casinos with more options than you can shake a stick at. But there’s one casino that runs similar games to the Rainbow Riches sister sites that are even higher rated than the Heart Bingo sister sites: Jackbit Casino.

Unlike their competition, Jackbit offers no huge signup bonuses. Instead, they’ve opted for large monthly competitive prize pools, offering competitions and guaranteed minimum prizes that are essentially freerolls. The monthly $500,000 Drops & Wins leaderboard reflects the current standings.

Another constant benefit at Jackbit is the 3+1 Freebet system. It gives you a free bet equal to the average of your last three. Their gaming selection ranges from penny ante to high roller paradise. For example, Amatic Industries’ Lucky Respin has a 97.15% RTP, with a max payout of $1.5 million on a $3,000 bet.

You should apply for VIP status immediately if you are a high roller. Otherwise, the site’s maximum withdrawal figures might get in the way of your fun.

Between the Heart Bingo sister sites and Jackbit Casino, you can play at casinos like Rainbow Riches without exposing yourself to their current RTP and support issues. We’ve sifted through much trash to find these winners, but it was well worth the effort.

Reviews of Rainbow Riches Sister Sites

The Rainbow Riches sister sites have similar deposit and withdrawal methods. As of mid-2023, there are no crypto or PayPal options available. The primary way to access these sites is via a web browser or phone app. Unless otherwise noted, they use a reactive layout that scales to your screen size.

Also, UK players must play from within the UK itself, not from abroad if you try to play from overseas when on vacation, by using a VPN, for example, this is a violation of the terms and conditions that can get your account closed.

Other than all that, let’s briefly look at each site to see their stories.

Double Bubble Bingo – Rainbow Riches Sister Sites

Double Bubble Bingo Homepage
Double Bubble Bingo Homepage

The TrustPilot score for Double Bubble Bingo has been dropping. In our review earlier this year, it was 1.7. Now it’s 1.6 out of 5 (as of late June 2023).

This is partially due to RTP tanking (which we’ll discuss briefly briefly). Double Bubble Bingo pushes games with bad RTPs right from their home page. It’s not like they don’t have decent games. There are 96+% RTP slots and 97+% live table games; they don’t feature them often outside their branded Double Bubble machines!

RTP

Here are some of the slots that they’re pushing from their home page and slots main page in June 2023:

Dog Days and Wild Hike are both 94% RTP machines.

10,001 Nights is a 90.71% RTP + a 3% jackpot contribution slot (93.71% total RTP). So are many other jackpot slots, including Five FamiliesAgent Royale, Cash Or Nothing, Clash of The Beasts, and Zillard King.

They have mid 96% RTP machines they could be pushing, like Book Of Captain Silver and Enchanting Relics! They could throw their weight behind fun, generous real money online slots. Instead, we get this other trash on the front page and in the featured slot section.

Bingo

Their bingo games look good, with 75, 80, and 90 ball games that will suit the frugal player and the high bingo roller alike. A session deal comes to 15 tickets for £5 for people who want to play within specific fixed periods.

Double Bubble Bingo’s Slingo selection is alright, pegged at around 95% RTP. And their Table Games / Live Casino are mostly the same as we talked about at Rainbow Riches, so stick to standard games and avoid the strange variants with terrible RTPs.

Bonuses

Their Bonus Offers are great. It’s one thing they did very well, so we can give them some credit there. Opt-in and wager £10, then pick between £50 In Bingo Tickets or 50 Free Spins on Double Bubble. If everything else were on the bright side, this alone would be worth a visit.

But two factors bring down Double Bubble Bingo’s estimation in our eyes:

Firstly, complaints about their support range from sudden unexplained account closures to slow and failed identification checks that make no sense.

However, the ‘never win’ complaints might stem from the intentional RTP tanking we discovered in prior investigations.

The Play’n Go slot Rich Wilde and the Tome of Madness is featured at Double Bubble. The Wayback Machine recorded its RTP on March 31, 2023, in the 96% range. However, the current RTP is 94%.

Play’n Go’s Eye Of Atum had a higher RTP on March 31, 2023, around 96%. The RTP is now 94%.

Lowering these machines,’ RTP is pure greed. This, combined with the poor complaint resolution recorded by customers, is enough for us to issue an ‘avoid’ verdict on Double Bubble Bingo.

Virgin Games – Rainbow Riches Sister Sites

Virgin Games Casino Homepage
Virgin Games Casino Homepage

Trustpilot says Virgin Games is tied for the worst Rainbow Riches sister site. With a 1.5 out of 5 rating (As of late June 2023), they’re losing any appeal they might have had with their customer base.

Could it be the RTP tanking? Well, there’s some evidence of that. Virgin Games’ version of the Play’n Go classic Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead had a 96% RTP as of February 2023. But the RTP now is sitting in the 94% range.

Their version of Play’n Go’s Legacy Of Dead had a 96% RTP in early February 2023. However, the RTP is now hovering in the 94% range.

But it’s not just the RTP giving Virgin Games Casino a lousy name. People are having issues claiming earned bonuses, registering won bets, and other basic functionality that should be automatic. They’ve claimed their Trustpilot profile but don’t respond to complaints.

It could be better because they have plenty of incentives that might be interesting if they got their act together. Refer a Friend programs can earn as much as £100 for five referrals who make natural money deposits and play the requisite games. The 50 Free Bingo Tickets Or 30 Free Spins on Double Bubble would generally be an acceptable offer.

But their reputation is so shot now that it would take a miracle or a massive internal shakeup to fix anything. So this is a negative recommendation for Virgin Games for many reasons, primarily RTP tanking.

Megaways Casino – Rainbow Riches Sister Sites

Megaways Casino Homepage
Megaways Casino Homepage

Image is what Megaways Casino used to be about. But these days, that image is tarnished.

But the reality is, this is just as bad as most of the other Rainbow Riches sister sites. It has a Trustpilot rating of 1.6 out of 5 as of late June 2023. Maybe they don’t care since nobody has claimed the Trustpilot page, and no staff is assigned to look into the reported issues (at least none with a public presence).

This is a pity because you might be impressed if you take your first impression from their home page. The menus are well organized, the color scheme is grand, and they have a global game search icon in the upper right-hand of the screen (on the desktop site).

Slots

Even better, as of late June 2023, the first four slots they list on the homepage are 96% or better RTP! This includes Bonanza Megaways5 Lions MegawaysTed Megaways, and Tiki Totems Megaways. That’s a great start.

RTP is displayed on every game, even if you aren’t logged in. Between good website design, advertising fair games, and transparency, this is a good sign. The front page also has 7-Up scratchcards with a terrible 92% RTP. But that’s minor. At least they finally hid away the MONOPOLY Hot Property mini-game and its eye-wateringly bad 87% RTP.

But the Fishin’ Frenzy Scratchcard may be the worst on the UK scene. That 80% RTP is just terrible. They should remove it from the site; it’s that embarrassing.

Bingo

The Slingo and Bingo sections resemble the other Rainbow Riches sister sites. The same caution applies to their Live Casino and Poker: Beware the harmful game variants, stick to the mainstream ones, or at least check the RTP of optimal play and side bets before you make any bad decisions.

Their new player signup offer is 30 Free 20p Spins after you wager £10. These are genuinely free spins, with no wagering requirements afterward.

So why does this site have a bad reputation? There are a lot of reports of account closures. That might be automation gone wild (like with overly paranoid money laundering checks) or excessively zealous support staff members. Either way, there’s an alarming problem here.

RTP

What about the complaints over low RTP after Bally’s takeover? Is there any objective evidence of this?

Look at their version of the Play’n Go slot Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead. RTP from September 2021 was around 96%. The RTP now is only 94%.

Megaways’ version of Play’n Go’s slot Legacy Of Dead has an RTP from January 2023 in the 96% range. But the RTP is now in the 94% range.

What about Play’n Go’s Moon Princess? The RTP from January 2023 is 96%. The RTP now is 94%.

We can infer that between April 2023 and May 2023, Megaways Casino intentionally tanked the RTP of many of their variable RTP slots.

That means the people posting negative reviews about RTP drops aren’t kidding, and they aren’t crazy, either. This is archived evidence that says they’re correct.

That means our recommendation for Megaways Casino is to avoid them entirely due to intentional RTP tanking. It’s sad because they have a lot of good features. If they reverse the RTP changes and improve support, they might recover.

Jackpotjoy – Rainbow Riches Sister Sites

jackpotjoy homepage
jackpotjoy homepage

We’ll keep these last two mini-reviews brief since we already did a comprehensive review of Jackpotjoy that you can check out if you want more details on the site.

We investigated whether the RTP drop we discovered on the other Rainbow Riches sister sites applies here. These are our results:

The Jackpotjoy version of Hugo Carts by Play’n Go has an RTP from December 2022 in the 96% range. But the RTP is now in the 94% range.

Their version of Play’n Go Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead has an RTP from March 30, 2023, set to 96%. The RTP is now 94%.

Here’s the Jackpotjoy version of Moon Princess by Play’n Go: The RTP from February 2023 is 96%. The RTP now is 94%.

Finally, the Jackpotjoy version of Play’n Go’s Legacy Of Dead has an RTP from March 30, 2023, in the 96% range. But the RTP now is 94%.

In short, Jackpotjoy is also engaging in intentional RTP tanking. They likely deserve the 1.5 Trustpilot rating that they have (as of late June 2023). So we’re giving them a negative recommendation.

Monopoly Casino – Rainbow Riches Sister Sites

monopoly casino homepage
monopoly casino homepage

We recently did a full, honest Monopoly Casino review. You should check that out to see all of the features and not just the results of their RTP tanking investigation. For the moment, here’s what our research uncovered:

The Monopoly version of Play’n Go slot Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead recorded an RTP from January 2023 of 96%. The RTP now is 94%.

Here’s the Monopoly Casino version of Legacy Of Dead, another of Play’n Go’s classic slots. The RTP from January 31, 2023, is around 96%. But the RTP now is 94%.

The Monopoly version of Play’n Go’s Hugo Carts has an RTP from January 2023 in the 96% range. The RTP is now in the 94% range.

Finally, the Monopoly version of Play’n Go’s Fire Joker has an RTP from January 2023 of 96%. The RTP is now in the 94% range.

This could be why Monopoly Casino has a TrustPilot rating of 1.9 as of late June 2023. And that’s better than all but one of the Rainbow Riches sister sites, which says a lot.

Rainbow Riches is one of the most celebrated names in slot machines. The first physical slot machine in the series was called Road to Riches, a two-screen, 5×3 reel game featuring the leprechaun Larry O’Leary.

The series was a smash hit, and soon just about every UK pub had people lined up to compete for the £500 jackpot. As the machine improved, the Rainbow Riches version came out. The physical machine was faithfully converted into a real money online slot machine.

We’ll also review a couple of curated sites like Rainbow Riches if you want to avoid the entire controversy and try a different real-money online casino with a similar game selection.

Who Owns Rainbow Riches Casino?

Originally the entire Rainbow Riches brand was owned by Light & Wonder. They developed the brand and had complete control over how it was used.

However, in 2019 the rights for a Rainbow Riches-themed casino were handed over to the Gamesys Group and Scientific Games. They developed a casino that became licensed under the Gamesys Operations Limited name in the UK (license number 38905). They are also licensed in Gibraltar under permit 046, allowing them to operate throughout the EU and have more global acceptance.

So for this particular real money online casino, the answer is ‘Gamesys,’ but for the more excellent brand and physical machines, Light & Wonder still has ultimate control. Their agreement for brand guidelines and licensing has yet to be made public, at least not in any form the Sister Casinos staff could locate.

A Comprehensive Rainbow Riches Review

Spoiler: If you haven’t read our Monopoly Casino Sister Sites article, you can check it out if you want a ton of details about the RTP tanking scandal that we’ve uncovered at the Gamesys sites since Bally’s took over. We’ll be covering it in the context of our comprehensive Rainbow Riches review, but there’s a lot to unpack.

Given their history, it isn’t surprising that Rainbow Riches puts their slot machines front and center. It’s one of the main reasons punters are attracted to the site in the first place.

Rainbow Riches Games

But in this review, we will start with other aspects of the site and return to the slots. If you read the spoiler above, this tale doesn’t have a happy ending. Still, we did say ‘comprehensive,’ so let’s dive into every nook and cranny.

All of the Rainbow Riches sister sites have the same layout, so the look and feel of this one aren’t much of a shock. The top navigation bar leads you to the available casino games, live casinos, and poker games. Primarily the site promotes bingo, slingo, and slots with a dash of poker and roulette.

Bingo

On the bingo side, this site offers something that many of the Rainbow Riches sister sites do not: A live countdown for featured bingo rooms on the front page. It’s a nice touch, one that all online casinos should take note of. This little heads-up display discusses the room’s ticket price, the timer status of a session bingo round, jackpots, and player counts.

5p and 10p rooms are standard, but 15 mixed-game (75, 80, and 90 balls) sessions are available for £2.50, and there are occasionally higher stakes tickets on offer depending on the time of day. Blox Bingo provides a progressive jackpot (seeds starting at £2,500). A Community Super Jackpot is also available in their Superlinks Bingo series, valued at up to £20,000 on their 90-ball game.

Slingo

Of course, Rainbow Riches offers slingo machines as well. We suggest you avoid any newer titles with an RTP below 95%. Most of their older slingo games have an RTP of 95% or better, but several new titles as of June 2023 (Slingo Money Train, Slingo Pirate’s Treasure, Slingo Cleopatra, etc.) are 94% range garbage. Always check the game info page before playing.

Live Casino

The site’s live casino offers a small selection of around 40 games, but the variety is impressive. Of course, your typical roulette, blackjack, and craps selections are there. But you can also try Caribbean Stud Poker, Bac Bo, and Baccarat. Also, live mini-games and licensed board games such as Monopoly and Deal Or No Deal are on the live casino floor. Remember to check the game descriptions for typical RTPs with optimal play.

Poker

Poker is available, but as with any skill game, it will be a losing proposition unless you have the skills to beat the rake. That means the average player will have an RTP of around 90%, which means you better enjoy the poker experience while it lasts, or there’s hardly a point.

The standard European wheel is available on the roulette side, giving you better than 97% RTP with optimal strategy. There are also variants like ‘100/1‘ and ‘Blazing‘ roulette, which have terrible odds, so why would you want to play these over the standard variants? For a shot at the sub-90% RTP side bets? You should take a hard pass on the weird variants that they offer and check the game descriptions for the RTP with optimal play.

Slots

And now, we’ve come back around to the slots. Of course, all Rainbow Riches branded machines are on full display. They also have a massive array of Play’n Go, Pragmatic, Red Tiger, and other real money online slots available to check out. We have mentioned those companies specifically for a good reason, and we’ll return to that point in a few moments.

Both their daily jackpots and jackpot king games feed into a progressive system. One of the daily jackpots is guaranteed to be won by 8 PM, while the other will be won by midnight. There are also hourly progressives that are automatically won at least once every calendar hour.

RTP

But now would be a good time to mention (if there’s ever a good time to say) the RTP tanking we’ve observed over the past couple of years on the Rainbow Riches sister sites.

Three companies we’ve already mentioned, Play’n Go, Pragmatic, and Red Tiger, offer variable RTP rates on their real money online slots. Between Bally’s takeover in 2021 and today, almost all of the variable RTP machines have had their returns reduced on the Rainbow Riches sister sites

Focusing on the Rainbow Riches site specifically,

Looking at the Rainbow Riches version of Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead from Play’n Go, the RTP from Late March 2023 was in the 96% range. Now the RTP is in the 94% range.

The Rainbow Riches version of Play’n Go’s slot Eye Of Atum shows us that the RTP from February 2023 is correct in the 96% range. At the same time, the RTP is now in the 94% range.

Check out the Rainbow Riches version of Legacy Of Dead, a Play’n Go classic. The RTP from early February 2023 is around the 96% range, while the RTP now is in the 94% range.

Looking at the Rainbow Riches version of Hugo Carts, another Play’n Go title, we see that the RTP from early February 2023 is in the 96% range. Compare that to the RTP now, sitting in the 94% range.

This wasn’t publicly announced that we can find. It happened behind the scenes and without warning to their current player base, unless we’ve missed some site update notes or private communications sent to each relevant player.

You can see where this is going, but let’s cover the other aspects of the site before coming to our inevitable conclusion.

Bonuses

The welcome bonus offer is 50 Free Bingo Tickets Or 30 Free Spins on the Rainbow Riches slot machine. If you use this offer, ensure you redeem the bingo credits for £1 tickets, not penny tickets. The minimum deposit and wager is £10.

Deposit methods include Visa Debit (including Electron), Mastercard Debit, and Apple Pay. Withdrawal methods also include direct deposit into your bank account.

Sadly, the RTP tanking evidence means we have to give a negative recommendation for Rainbow Riches. Although their late June 2023 TrustPilot rating was up at 2.1, which is the best of all their sister sites, we still can’t consider them trustworthy.

In Conclusion

Intentional RTP tanking without fully disclosing to your player base is terrible in the current economic environment. It’s cowardly to change the RTP, stealth-change the help files, and watch your loyal customers wither away.

The other support activities that have been reported, ranging from aggressive account banning to failed payouts, could be better signs. We often see the ‘bad’ before things become much worse.

We hope you take our information seriously and consider the ratings that hundreds or thousands of your fellow punters have given these sites.

Our team will continue to monitor the Rainbow Riches sister sites to see if there is any improvement in support, public communication, and game RTP. Until then, please check out the sites like Rainbow Riches listed above. Be careful out there.
